Whether losing herself in a good book or working with clients to connect them with grid-edge distributed energy solutions, our Client Solutions Implementation Lead, Sheryl McGrann, is here to make a difference. Join us in welcoming Sheryl to the Virtual Peaker team!
How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?
Before joining Virtual Peaker, I held customer-facing roles at multiple B2B software companies, and I enjoy helping clients learn a new piece of technology and apply it to real-world challenges. At prior companies, I came to appreciate how critical the implementation phase of a client relationship is, and I was able to steer my career towards this function.
I have experience working with clients from companies of various sizes and with diverse technical sophistication levels, and I understand the importance of tailoring my approach to each client’s needs while still adhering to best practices and setting them up for success. I’ve also worked in startup environments where processes needed to evolve quickly as the products matured and the company scaled, and I’m excited to leverage this experience in the context of grid-edge distributed energy technology.
Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.
As a Client Solutions Implementation Lead at Virtual Peaker, I’ll help support new clients as they implement and launch programs with VP’s platform for the first time. I’ll also guide existing clients to configure and start utilizing new features or expand into additional device types with existing programs. The role focuses on client enablement, technical configuration, and ensuring successful program launches and expansions. I’ll enjoy helping clients build a strong technical foundation with our platform and providing a positive experience early on in our relationship.
How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?
I try to be conscious of selecting environmentally-friendly brands when making purchasing decisions, look for products with a long expected lifespan that I won’t need to replace frequently, and give away any unwanted items that are still usable instead of throwing them out. Staying informed is very important, and I try to follow sustainability and energy-related news and content to better understand the implications of my own actions and lifestyle choices. I also try to shop local when possible, compost food waste, and of course keep my home’s temperature in the just-comfortable-enough range instead of blasting the AC.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I live in Queens, New York, where my boyfriend and I enjoy proximity to both of our extended families. Besides keeping up with family and friends, in my free time I’m a continual explorer of the city and a dedicated bookworm– book recommendations of any genre always welcome!
