6 Reasons to Attend the 2023 Virtual Peaker Empower Innovation Forum

Our annual client event, The Empower Innovation Forum is a great opportunity for energy professionals who are focused on transforming the grid to gather together, share their insights, and learn from one another – all while enjoying complimentary food and drinks (and free swag)! Just like last year, we’re hosting the event in our hometown, Louisville, KY from November 1 through the 3rd. As if just one of these reasons isn’t enough to join us, check out these six!

1: Expand Your Professional Network 🧑‍💼

One of our goals with the Empower Innovation Forum is to foster a meeting of the minds in the energy industry. Here, you can gather and chat with other experts and influencers who are focused on ushering in distributed energy resources (DERs) for a cleaner grid. You’ll mingle with like-minded energy folks and make connections that will be long-lasting.

2: The Agenda & Speaker Line-Up is 🔥

At this year’s Empower Innovation Forum, we’re focused on the value of customer engagement; preferences, motivations, and barriers to clean energy; exploring utility program enrollments; program stacking for demand response and more; the EV managed charging needed to meet the rising public interest and manufacturing mandates; virtual power plants; and so much more! And talk about quite the line-up on the agenda. We’ll have folks from National Grid Renewables, RMI, ICF, Aspen Technology, Rochester Public Utilities, Efficiency Maine, and more!

3: Invest in Yourself & Your Programs 💸

While at the Empower Innovation Forum, you can brush up on all the latest DER trends. We have sessions that dive deep into virtual power plants (VPPs), transportation electrification, driving demand response program engagement among customers, and more! Hear from utility program managers who can provide you with tips and tricks for scaling your demand response programs based on their implementations. We’ll have utility representatives from all sizes – IOUs, munis, cooperatives and they’ll dive into their program successes and challenges.

4: It’s All About Innovation! 💡

You’ll have a chance to learn all about the most advanced, easiest-to-use, modular, friendliest, cloud-based DER solution on the market. This is the once-a-year opportunity to hear from Virtual Peaker leadership and product teams about the product roadmap. New this year are added technical sessions where you will dive deep into the product features that differentiate Virtual Peaker from other vendors.

5: Be Heard 🗣️

The team at Virtual Peaker is adamant that we can’t battle climate change alone, it’s going to take all of us. At this and every Empower Innovation Forum, we’re looking for your feedback, perspective, and guidance on how best to achieve lofty decarbonization goals. Be prepared to engage – ask questions and offer ideas for how best to solve the grid challenges of today and tomorrow!

6: Have a Little Kentucky Fun! 🏇

You’ll get to enjoy Louisville, Kentucky’s food, history, and traditions. We’re kicking off the event a the Rabbit Hole Distillery, also known as “the architectural icon of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.” Here we’ll eat, taste bourbon (of course!), and tour the facilities, witnessing the whiskey-making process. On night two, join us at the historic Churchill Downs and The Kentucky Derby Museum, where we’ll dive deep into the rich traditions of the fastest two minutes in sports! While there, stand in the winner’s circle, learn about winning Derby horses of years past, and have a not-to-be-missed 360-degree media experience of race day!
