How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?

I’ve always felt connected to the natural world, and have been trail running, mountain biking, and camping my whole life. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to do work protecting the environment. As I landed on an Environmental Policy major while at Luther College, I was focused on ecosystem restoration and development policy – but everything seemed to come back to climate change.

After graduating, I spent two years in AmeriCorps service implementing residential energy efficiency programs. I had a wonderful opportunity to learn about building science and energy systems and realized that the energy industry is where my career could make the impact I desired. After AmeriCorps, I worked in a variety of jobs supporting utilities and small businesses with energy efficiency projects and honed my skills in customer service and relationship building.

This all brought me to my current role at Virtual Peaker, where I’m part of an amazing team dedicated to top-notch customer support for a platform that is catalyzing change in our energy system.

Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.

As a Client Success Representative, my job is to make sure that Virtual Peaker is the friendliest DER Management Platform out there. In my role, I work as a subject matter expert to help our clients troubleshoot any issues that arise, learn more about how to leverage the amazing tools at their fingertips and help connect our team at VP to the ever-changing needs of our clients. Many of the programs that Virtual Peaker’s platform supports are changing the clean energy industry for the better, and it’s rewarding to help keep the wheels turning.

The Client Success team as a whole is invested in the success of our clients and the work they are doing, and I’m also grateful for the amazing teamwork and support I receive on a daily basis.

How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?

Max 1Our family has been updating our home for the past few years, and we’re excited to be updating our HVAC equipment this year. This admittedly doesn’t sound “exciting,” but we’ll be pleased to make our home more comfortable and are always working on making this house more energy efficient! We are also gardeners and are looking forward to another season to make use of our compost, add a rain barrel, and of course, enjoy the delicious veggies.

Our family loves getting outdoors, and besides supporting local and state projects to preserve important ecological areas, we’ll be expanding our pollinator gardens this summer, and adding a small backyard prairie!

What can you tell us about yourself?

I live in Northwest Wisconsin with my wife, son, and two dogs. We love making use of the local trails, lakes, and rivers in all seasons. When at home I enjoy trying new recipes, bread baking, and watching basketball and soccer.

Come work with us to help change the world!
