Building a sustainable future is top of mind for everyone at Virtual Peaker, and integral to the work of software developer Kurt Strecker!
What did you do before joining Virtual Peaker?
For many years, I ran my own fashion still life and retail photography business. But ever since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to be a programmer. Before joining Virtual Peaker, I found a job developing workplace automation solutions for commercial and e-retail businesses, which allowed me to merge my photographic skills with my passion for writing code.
What’s your role at Virtual Peaker?
I found my dream job at Virtual Peaker as a software developer. I wasn’t looking, but I jumped at the chance to work in the energy sector. At Virtual Peaker, I’m proud that we’re doing our part to help get the world on track towards a more sustainable future. And we’re a small, nimble team, so whatever innovation we roll out—from new features to products to interfaces to client reports—I’ve likely touched it and helped to make it better for our clients.
What else can you share?
I own more board games than I can realistically play, which I think reflects my desire to always keep my mind engaged and creative. When I need to disconnect, I love to head outdoors. The Red River Gorge a couple of hours east of Louisville is one of my favorite spots to camp, hike, and get completely immersed in nature.
