How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?

Erika Wiggins 1Although I worked in different industries over the years, customer service and technology have always been part of my work life. Just before I joined Virtual Peaker, I worked at a tech start-up where I introduced customers to a concept that was very untraditional and new to them. That experience taught me patience, and openness to other people’s points of view; I certainly understand now better than ever the tricky parts of technology.

I also came to love that bugs and system errors are part of technology. Something that I took from that experience is the understanding of how to respond to sudden changes. I like to think of myself as someone that can quickly adapt and

go with the flow. With all that, I couldn’t think of a better place to be than Virtual Peaker. Our platform is ever-evolving and we’re growing at a rapid speed, improving our already amazing products as we go. On top of it, it’s truly refreshing to work in a space that has a positive impact on our environment. I couldn’t be prouder to be a Veeper.

Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.

I’m part of the Client Success Team, where we take client satisfaction to a whole new level. In my role, I get to be part of a very exciting step for our customers; the unpacking of the product that they just purchased. There are so many specific elements that need to happen between the OEMs, IT, and our client’s project management team bef

ore a DER event can be dispatched. I help to keep everything moving, from conducting training sessions to being the liaison between multiple parties, and finally configuring our portal to our customer’s needs.

The Client Success Team is focused on making the onboarding of new customers as fast and smooth as possible. I’m very happy that I can be part of that effort and contribute to a wonderful experience for our customers.

How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?

Erika Wiggins 2

I’m originally from Germany where sustainability and the love of recycling are second nature to most people. Before I moved to the US, I didn’t even have a dryer. Plus, the public transportation system in Germany allowed me to go without a car for most of my life.

I have always been mindful of the resources I use, including water, paper products, and, of course, energy. My husband and I have two girls, and we try to make it a family effort to become as resourceful as possible. This goes from simple things, such as recycling, to bigger ideas like not needing to buy new clothes all the time.

My favorite sustainability effort is our chickens though. I love that they are our compost, that they help our garden grow by chasing down insects, and that they give us fresh and healthy eggs. Our flock is big enough to not only sustain us but also a small group of neighbors. Contributing to a local, sustainable food system fills me with lots of joy.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I live in the southwest of Utah with my husband, our two daughters, two dogs, and of course, our lovely chickens. We landed here because of the beautiful nature and mild climate. It allows us to explore the outdoors almost year-round, which is our favorite thing to do. Now that our girls are a little older, we also like to travel again. Seeing the world from children’s eyes is still the best feeling ever.

Come work with us to help change the world!
