Connecting our product and sales teams is no small feat, but one that our Director of Sales Engineering Ben Brosnan handles with skill. Please join me in welcoming Ben as one of the newest members of the Virtual Peaker team!
How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?
Since completing a study abroad program during my undergraduate program that was focused on renewable energy, I wanted my career to have a focus on renewable/clean energy. Once my career began, I spent much of it within the energy industry, with a specific focus on clean/renewable energy, at both very large companies and startups. At my previous company, a large multinational conglomerate, I did not feel I was making enough impact, both professionally and impacting climate change. When I learned about Virtual Peaker, I knew it was a great opportunity to make a huge impact in both those areas. Also, it’s very exciting to work for a company based in my hometown.
Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.
I am our Director of Sales Engineering on the Sales team and the bridge between our Sales and Product teams. I assist the sales team with technical product information, sales calls, and proposals. I also develop a variety of sales enablement tools to streamline the proposal process, provide general information to prospective clients, and make the salespeople’s jobs easier. Lastly, I stayed aligned with the product team and our roadmap as well as provided feedback to the team on any product/feature requests gathered from prospective client meetings.
How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?
I try to do the little things like recycling, reusing grocery bags, and using public transit when I can. I am also excited for EV charging infrastructure to expand and plan on buying an electric vehicle when the time comes to buy a new car. I plan on buying a house in the next couple of years as well and plan on adding solar panels and hopefully taking advantage of the demand response programs we help run.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I have a 4-year-old husky/pointer mix, Arya, and I like to explore the mountains with her as much as possible. I also enjoy all the Colorado outdoor activities like hiking and snowboarding. I am also a huge sports and movie fan so if the Nuggets are in the playoffs or a new Marvel movie is out, you’ll find me there.
