Please join me in welcoming our newest Virtual Peaker team member, Andrew Weigel!
What did you do before joining Virtual Peaker?
Software as a service (SaaS) has been the focus of my entire career in sales. Since graduating from Western Kentucky University, I’ve gained deep experience in a variety of industries—from healthcare to advertising to volunteerism—using technology to help some amazing startups grow. I find it rewarding to work at smaller companies because they can offer a variety of opportunities to contribute, at all levels of the business, and you know that your contributions are valued.
What’s your role at Virtual Peaker?
I’m passionate about the power and potential of renewable energy. I can’t sell something that I don’t believe in, so it’s been exciting to dig in with utilities that really want to make a difference in the world. My title is account executive, so my primary focus is sales. I’m also hoping to use my experience working at a variety of startups to help to build Virtual Peaker together with my colleagues. Our growth hinges on our ability to develop software solutions for our clients, and I’m proud to have joined a company that’s so focused on helping people as well as our planet.
What else can you share?
I’m a Louisville native who loves to travel and see the world. Before the pandemic, my wife Hannah and I took an amazing trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. Now, with our one-year-old daughter Zora in tow, we’re sticking closer to home but still, look forward to visiting family and friends and hopefully planning some post-COVID international trips in the future.
We also enjoy all sorts of live music, including concerts down at Waterfront Park, and just about any other venue and music genre. There’s lots of great food in Louisville, and I like to cook—especially grilling. When we have time, we tend to head outside, whether it’s hiking close to home or backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains.
