Whether working on decarbonizing the planet or collaborating with customers, Amelia Haba wants to help make the world a little greener. Join us in welcoming our new Client Account Manager, Amelia Haba, to the Virtual Peaker team!
How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?
Before transitioning into tech and climate tech, my career began in the outdoors and sharing that passion with others. I worked as a Recreational Therapist and led backpacking trips, facilitated ropes courses, and helped program outdoor camps. That experience naturally guided me toward companies aligned with my love for nature and my drive to help protect the planet. In previous tech roles, I’ve worked in Customer Success and Account Management, supporting onboarding, implementations, QBRs, goal tracking, and client relationship management. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilities has equipped me to help support Virtual Peaker, our clients, and our shared mission to decarbonize the planet.
Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.
As a Client Account Manager, my main role is to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with our clients. I work closely with them to understand their goals, strategize the best ways to achieve those goals through our programs, and support them every step of the way. This includes helping them expand and optimize their use of our devices, answering questions about the product, clarifying KPIs, or resolving technical issues through tickets and bug tracking. Above all, I see myself as both an advocate and a partner, committed to helping our clients thrive while we work together toward the larger mission of decarbonizing the planet.
How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?
For me, sustainability starts with everyday choices, big or small. I try to reuse what I can and buy secondhand whenever possible. Not everything needs to be new to be useful! I also try to live below my means, make an effort to walk, bike, or carpool when I can, and always carry a reusable water bottle. Supporting local businesses, vegetable stands, and farmers’ markets is another way I stay connected to my community while reducing my environmental impact. I truly believe that small steps add up, and that you don’t have to do everything perfectly to make a difference.
What can you tell us about yourself?
Outside of work, I love to stay active and get outside. I enjoy practicing yoga, playing tennis, and reading. I’m also a huge fan of cozy nights at home with my dog, Elsa May. In the summer, I enjoy taking backpacking and camping trips to unplug and explore new places, and in the winter, I love to get out and ski whenever I can. Day-to-day, I just try to enjoy and appreciate the little things!
