In 2020, the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) launched Connected Homes, a customer program available through participating municipal light plants (MLPS). The program is designed to enhance grid resiliency through aggregate device control, providing an equitable path to energy decarbonization. 

Connected Homes is an aggregate conservation program that leverages distributed energy resources (DERs), which currently includes thermostats, water heaters, batteries, mini-splits, and EVSE chargers & EV telematics.
