Utility Energy Conferences

Here we are again, kicking off another year by inviting you to join us at one of the many utility energy conferences designed to help utilities decarbonize, decentralize, and digitize during the energy transition. Why is that important? According to the Department of Energy (DOE), virtual power plant (VPP) capacity needs to grow from 30-60 GWh mostly attributable to demand response programs to 80-160 GWh by 2030. Fortunately, evidence supports that increasing this capacity can help utilities save $10b annually: not only can more VPP capacity meet growing demand, but it can save utilities billions.

That’s why we’re traveling around North America again this year to connect with our utility partners, new and old, meet demand, increase revenue, and enhance grid resiliency. Read on to learn more, and remember: if you don’t see us in a convenient location, we update our list of utility energy conferences all year long, so we may still have our chance!

2025 CEO Close-Up & America’s Electric Cooperatives Advocacy Classic

We’re teeing up again this year on January 11 on Marco Island, FL at America’s Electric Cooperatives Advocacy Classic (formerly known as the Good Government Golf Tournament) to have a little time on the greens to discuss the potential for demand flexibility initiatives in lowering member costs and enhancing grid resilience. After a day of scoring birdies, join us January 12-14 at the CEO Close-Up, a three-day opportunity to meet with cooperatives to help them meet demand while defraying costly infrastructure upgrades. If you’re in the Sunshine State, swing by and join us!

TechAdvantage

Join us at TechAdvantage this year, March 10-12 in Atlanta, GA to learn how innovative technologies like Topline Demand Control, which uses AI, model predictive control, forecasting, and Grid-Edge distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS) to render distributed energy resources (DERs) reliable. We’re on hand to discuss flexible dispatching functionality, the future of VPPs, and so much more this March, and we’re eager to meet up.

SECC Consumer Symposium

This March 24, join us in Dallas, TX, for SECC’s 2025 Consumer Symposium. For this year’s utility energy conference, the theme is “Shaping the Future: Consumers and the Energy Movement,” which centers around leveraging smart, innovative solutions to load management to meet increasing demand without incurring high peak energy purchasing costs while defraying expensive infrastructure upgrades.

Distributech

Going to Distributech this year? Well, as luck would have it, so are we! Join us this March 24-27 in Dallas, TX to learn how to unlock the potential in energy storage and so much more. Learn the difference between Grid & Grid-Edge DERMS and how the two complement one another to create a holistic ecosystem of load flexibility through increased access to both utility-held and behind-the-meter DER assets.

Spring 2025 PLMA Conference

You can find us this Cinco de Mayo at the Spring 2025 PLMA Conference from May 5-7 in Kansas City, MO. This year’s utility energy conference event promises real-world insights into flexible load management, leveraging DERs, decarbonization, and EV managed charging. Need ideas on how to get the most out of the DER assets in your community? We have practical solutions that are affordable and efficient to help you deploy or expand upon your new demand flexibility program.

National VPP Summit

The DOE report on VPPs not only explained the need for more VPP capacity but defined virtual power plants as any aggregation of power for load management. Whether that’s in aggregate conservation like demand response or EV charging or through aggregating solar and battery to support the grid, virtual power plants are critical to meeting increasing demand during the energy transition. That’s why you can find us at the second annual National Virtual Power Plant Summit from June 3-4, the first of our utility energy conferences in Denver, CO this year. We’re eager to talk about next-generation VPPs that enhance revenue and mitigate energy insecurity. Let’s get together for a chat this June!

NISC MIC 2025

We’re in Virtual Peaker’s hometown of Louisville, KY, this September 22-25 at the NISC MIC 25 conference at the Omni Hotel. The National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) Member Information Conference (MIC) is NISC’s premier utility energy conference event and we’re excited to collaborate on finding the best technological solutions to your load management needs!

E Source Forum 2025

We’re in beautiful Denver, CO again this October 6-9 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel for the second to last of our utility energy conferences this year, at E Source Forum 2025! Whether you’re interested in modernizing your aging distribution networks, meeting regulatory requirements, or just meeting customer demand affordably, we’re available to connect and find the best possible solution!

Fall 2025 PLMA Conference

The last on our list of utility energy conferences, for now, join us this November for the Fall 2025 PLMA conference! For now, the details are tight, but based on last year’s event, we’re looking forward to discussing better, easier ways to engage with customers and market demand flexibility programs to develop load management potential, EV charging strategies, and so much more. Watch PLMA for more details, and let’s plan to get together to enhance your customer programs and grid resiliency!

Virtual Peaker 2025 Utility Energy Conferences Conclusion

It’s not controversial to say that fossil fuels are a limited resource. In fact, according to researchers at Stanford University, fossil fuels like oil are only anticipated to last roughly 25 years, with gasoline and coal not terribly far behind. So no matter how the cultural winds may blow, the energy transition, DERs, renewable energy, and load management will remain an existential reality for energy providers as we work toward a more diversified portfolio of energy sources to a more equitable tomorrow. These utility energy conferences are all wonderful opportunities to network, connect, and learn from one another so that we can all better support the energy transition.

And don’t forget to bookmark this list, as we will update it as we add speaking sessions and new events throughout the year!
