How did your previous life prepare you for Virtual Peaker?
My career journey hasn’t followed the most linear path, but there are connective threads throughout that prepared me well for Virtual Peaker. With over a decade in the energy industry – first at the Department of Energy, then at E Source, and most recently at 3Degrees – I’m keenly aware of the industry’s challenges and the critical role utilities and end-use customers play in decarbonization. I’m excited to join Virtual Peaker during the pivotal clean energy transition.
During my entrepreneurial stint as a Pure Barre franchise owner, I learned firsthand the importance of an innovative product offering and exceptional customer experience. I bring a customer-focused, problem-solving skill set to Virtual Peaker to help the company and our customers achieve their goals.
Tell us about your role at Virtual Peaker.
As a Senior Account Manager at Virtual Peaker, I ensure clients have the best possible experience with our products to enable a distributed, flexible, decarbonized electricity grid. I dig deep to understand each client’s short and long-term goals and develop meaningful relationships so everyone can succeed.
How do you personally engage in sustainability efforts?
First and foremost, I have intentionally engaged in sustainability through my work, which led me to Virtual Peaker! Outside of work, I try to live by the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mantra by being conscious about consumption, reusing materials as often as possible, and recycling and composting to reduce landfill waste. We live in a very energy-efficient home, added rooftop solar panels, planted new trees, and installed a backyard composting bin. I try not to use single-use plastics or paper goods, thanks to reusable options like Stasher bags and Swedish dishcloths, and I never leave home without a reusable water bottle. I support environmental non-profits and vote with my wallet and on the ballot.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I was born and raised in Massachusetts outside Providence, RI, but my heart found its true home in Colorado, where I have lived for 17 years. I love to hike, ski, and generally explore the outdoors with my husband and two daughters, ages 4 and 7. We also love to travel and explore new places, usually hitting up local playgrounds and libraries along the way. I am fortunate to have traveled to 5 continents, with Africa and Antarctica remaining on the bucket list. I grew up dancing and was a dancer in the NBA for two seasons (which feels like a lifetime ago), though these days, I stick with my beloved tap shoes. At home, I enjoy reading, puzzles, and a good documentary or drama series.
