Customer Marketing Manager

Virtual Peaker is looking for a Customer Marketing Manager that will help solve the climate crisis by supporting our mission of building the utility of the future.  The intermittent nature of wind and solar energy makes it much harder for electric utilities to keep the grid in balance. Renewable energy is going to save humanity, and Virtual Peaker is part of the solution. The Customer Marketing Manager will report to the VP of Marketing. 

Role Responsibilities

As the Customer Marketing Manager for Virtual Peaker, you will manage the customer lifecycle to drive lifetime value and build loyalty through a personalized experience. You will have a deep understanding of the customer experience throughout the funnel to unlock value for our customers within our products and inspire marketing strategies for them. The ideal candidate is a data-driven marketer who is passionate about helping customers achieve their business goals. Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the VP of Marketing to develop an upsell strategy, matching specific customer cohorts with relevant product suite add-ons to drive retention and customer lifetime value

  • Implement and optimize the upsell strategy, across multiple channels including email, in-app, webinars, and content, while collaborating with and complementing our Customer Success and Sales team approaches

  • Create automated journeys to successfully onboard customers, increase product adoption, and improve retention, while complementing the Customer Success personalized experience

  • Drive adoption of newer features and products

  • Play a key role in bringing to life our annual customer forum to engage customers on the future product roadmap, as well as on their needs and expectations

  • Develop good relationships with customer-facing teams – Customer Success, Partnerships, and Sales – to enhance the overall customer journey and ensure consistency

  • Partner with product marketing & marketing team members to amplify customer messaging and identify areas for collaboration and cross-promotion

  • Analyze campaign results on an ongoing basis to identify risks and opportunities and develop a robust testing strategy to optimize all customer communications

  • Ensure relevant customer teams are briefed on all customer communications, and feedback loops are established

  • Conduct regular competitor communication reviews, providing business updates and recommendations for our future plans

Education & Experience

The candidate will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field

  • 5-8+ years marketing experience

  • Preferably experience in working in saas software 

  • HubSpot experience 

  • Data-driven marketing approach, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits.

  • Ability to interpret results to action improvements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Adaptability

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain interdepartmental relationships

  • Excellent attention to detail, including adhering to brand guidelines
