Please join me in welcoming Ana Bogdanova! ## What did you do before joining Virtual Peaker? I’ve always been a quick learner, which is a pretty essential trait when working with start-ups. Before joining this team, most of my career has been in the financial services industry where my skills and experiences—from product management to SaaS to data analysis to software development—are directly relevant to what we do at Virtual Peaker. It all boils down to understanding the client’s and customers’ needs, and then developing an action plan that works for everyone and is good for the planet. I’m originally from Russia, but my husband and I most recently lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re excited to relocate to Louisville because, as an [emerging center for many new startup companies](https://www.suddenlink.com/articles/network-infrastructure/top-50-tech-hub-cities-us-ranked) , this area shares the same excitement and energy for change. ## What’s your role at Virtual Peaker? At its core, my role as product manager is to always be the voice of the client in everything we do at Virtual Peaker. We build our products based on our clients’ needs and develop new ways to help them achieve their goals. I’m a bridge between our internal teams, ensuring that we stay focused on successful collaborations. We’re always testing new and better approaches, then assessing and testing, to continuously build the best products possible. ## What else can you share? My degree from the Moscow State University of Design and Technology is in engineering. I love to learn new things when I have free time. For example, I enjoy learning how to build apps using [Swift](https://developer.apple.com/swift/) , a programming language developed by Apple. Before moving to the Louisville area, I’ve lived in major urban areas including Moscow, St. Petersburg, and San Francisco. Now that we have our own house here, my husband and I love to explore the region on weekends. When I’m not out running, I settle into my leather-crafting projects, making wallets, cardholders, and more. The process helps me stay centered on what I hope to accomplish. He was previously at GE as an Advanced Systems Engineer in the Connected Home Software Group, but left that role in May 2014 to pursue entrepreneurship full time. Bill grew up in Louisville and returned with his family in 2010 after a long stint in the San Francisco Bay Area.
