Appalachian Power Company Bring Your Own Thermostat Program

Refer to the terms & conditions below to ensure you are eligible for Appalachian Power Company’s (“APCo”) Bring Your Own Thermostat Program. CLEAResult Consulting Inc. administers the Bring Your Own Thermostat Program. For the purposes of this program, APCo shall refer to Appalachian Power Company and its third-party implementers. Incentive Offer

This offer provides an incentive for the enrollment of a qualifying product and is not dependent on the purchase of any other product or service unless indicated. One application must be completed for each service address and APCo account number in which the product or products are installed, and enrolled Equipment must be enrolled between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2021. Incentive funds are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Incentives are subject to change and may be discontinued at the sole discretion of APCo.

As a Bring Your Own Thermostat participant, residential customers are eligible to receive a one-time enrollment incentive of $50 and an annual participation incentive of up to $25.

Payment

One-time Enrollment Payments will be made upon confirmation of thermostat enrollment in the Program. Bring Your Own Thermostat residential participants will also receive a $5 per month participation incentive for all or part of the five months in which they are enrolled; May, June, July, August, September. If the participant is not enrolled in the Bring Your Own Thermostat program for an entire summer season, the participation incentive amount may be prorated.

Annual Participation payments will be made after the cooling season in October. Incentive to be issued to the APCo customer/account holder.

Application Delivery

Customers ensure delivery by completing the Bring Your Own Thermostat enrollment application, confirmed with an assigned application ID number and successful test and verification of the active device. Receipt of an application does not guarantee payment of a rebate. Failure to provide accurate supporting documentation will be considered an incomplete application. Please keep a copy of your application supporting documentation for your records.

Tax Information

Incentive payments may be subject to federal and/or state income tax reporting. Applicant is responsible for contacting a qualified tax advisor to determine tax liability. If you purchase an energy efficient product for your home/ business, you may be eligible for a federal tax credit. Visit www.energystar.gov/taxcredits for more information. APCo is not responsible for any tax liability imposed on the rebate recipient as a result of the payment of incentives.

Customer Information

APCo reserves the right to disclose your account number, federal tax ID and consumption data to its subcontractors for the sole purpose of administering APCo’s Residential Energy Efficiency and demand response programs as needed or required. Subcontractors are contractually obligated to protect the confidentiality of this information.

Disclaimer

APCo does not guarantee that energy efficiency measures purchased, or services provided through this program, will result in energy and cost savings. APCo reserves the right to deny or limit any incentive. In addition, no warranties on product are provided by APCo, nor does the program warranty, guarantee or endorse the energy efficiency services provided by any specific contractor participating in the program.

Program Modifications

Incentives, qualifying products, and incentive amounts are subject to change and may be discontinued at the sole discretion of APCo.

Indemnification

I agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and release APCo and its affiliates and the shareholders, directors, officers, agents, employees, representatives and contractors of each of them from and against any and all actions, liabilities or claims in regard to the equipment (and related materials) covered herein including liability from incidental or consequential damages.

Eligibility

APCo Account
To be eligible to participate in APCo energy efficiency programs, each applicant must be an APCo residential customer and the location of the installed equipment must be on an APCo residential rate.

Property
To be eligible to participate in APCo’s Bring Your Own Thermostat Program, each applicant must have a fully operational central heating and cooling system.

Equipment
To enroll, an eligible smart thermostat must be installed at the residential customer’s address, registered with the manufacturer and connected to Wi- Fi.
